Hi, my name is Raina Hagel! I am from Comox BC, born and raised, and I moved to Victoria for school in September 2024. I am going into my third year at UVic and I am in the elementary education program. I am set to graduate with my Bachelor of Education in 2028, but I may take an extra year of school to set myself up for a better start to teaching.

I have grown up as a multi-sport athlete, so for work, I have coached basketball, soccer, and volleyball. I have coached local summer camps, as well as the grade 8 and 9 school teams at my high school. These experiences have helped lead me into my teaching career.

In school, I have always enjoyed learning math and science. I did French immersion from K-12, which I enjoyed and have found to be a useful skill, especially as a future teacher.

I love being outdoors, being active and going on adventures. As I mentioned above, I love playing sports. I am on the UVic Women’s Soccer team, and have spent the past two years travelling across BC and Canada to play!
